If there is a word that describe shoe bites, it’s painful. When you buy that perfect pair of high heels proudly but suffer later with those painful shoe bites you ponder upon not purchasing those shoes at first. Shoe bite is a dreadful sore that happens on foot after wearing ill-fitting or new shoes.

Tight shoes rub and brush against the skin, causing roughness that ultimately results in pain,   inflammation and swelling. These bites hurt more while  standing or walking, & can lead to blisters & leave ugly scars.

Women are more often prone to shoe bites, as they wear narrow, tight and uncomfortable shoes more regularly than men. Here are some home remedies that may help you to heel your shoe bite:

1. Butter

Apply a layer of butter on the heel of your foot. Massage it over the soar area & leave it overnight. In the morning, soak your feet in hot water and wear shoes only after an hour.

2. Olive Oil

Heat a tablespoon of olive oil and massage the hot oil on your foot in a circular motion to soften your heel. Wipe your foot dry before wearing your shoes.

3. Ice Cubes

If you have recently developed the shoe bites & you are ‘aahhing’ and ‘oohhing’ with the pain while walking, it can get toooo much to bear sooner or later.

Another way to relieve the ugly pain and soothe the sting is by apply ice cubes onto the area of the shoe bite.

  • Take few ice cubes (3-4) & wrap them with a cloth .
  • Press the cloth containing the cubes against the scars & sores of the shoe bite.
  • Do this time and again to relieve your pain & to soothe the scar.

4. Milk Cream

Mix fresh milk cream with a spoon of butter and apply it on your bitten foot and leave it for 10 minutes. Wipe the mixture & you are good to go.

5. Potato

Rub a fresh piece of potato over the soar area on your foot. The potato juice is so effective that it also avoids corns and inflammation.

6. Powder

Put some powder on your foot an hour before putting on your shoes.

7. Petroleum Jelly

It helps heal scars and dry soars. Apply it many times in a day if you want to. Wash your feet with water thoroughly & moisturize them if you plan to wear shoes all day.

8. Toothpaste

Toothpaste can do magic to the condition of your scars & blisters caused by the shoe bite. It has a cooling menthol effect on the condition,  hydrogen per oxide & baking soda present in toothpaste help in healing the soars and blisters. But you need to be careful of gel based toothpastes as all they do is make your condition more worse and aggravate it.
